This stunning Cathedral is more than 100 years old and is build on Cathedral Hill overlooking the state capitol, downtown St. Paul and the Mississippi river. It has a copper clad dome.
Absolutely breathtaking interiors and impressive exterior, this is one of the most beautiful Cathedrals I have ever seen.
As stunning as it is during the day time, it was an absolute visual delight to capture the beauty during late, winter evening. The lights just added to the beauty. This is a monument that should not be missed. If around Minneapolis/St.Paul area, it is worth taking a trip.
Minnesota State Capitol Absolutely Splendid Structure, this Minnesota State Capitol building houses the Minnesota Senate, Minnesota House of Representatives, the Office of the Attorney General and the Office of the Governor. The building also includes a chamber for the Minnesota Supreme Court, although court activities usually take place in the neighboring Minnesota Judicial Center.

This building was built in 1905 and was designed by an architect named Cass Gilbert. The capitol has the world's largest unsupported marble dome modeled after St. Peter's Basilica in Rome (there are guided tours). If you miss any piece of information, you can always find it on the internet. I personally don't understand much of Architectural stuff, but if you are an art or history enthusiast, this is a gem you would not want to miss.
I obviously had my share of 'ooohs and aaahs', admired the beauty, took some pictures (both during the day and night) and had a great time enjoying the beautifully lit Downtown Saint Paul. We went ahead to grab some hot coffee and a warm place to relax for sometime. Minnesota evenings in winters are just too harsh to handle for long!
